Building Stronger Support for Small Businesses

Local entrepreneurs deserve access to the resources, partnerships, advocacy, and workforce support they need to thrive.

Small businesses are essential to the economic strength and character of our neighborhoods. They create jobs, provide needed services, support local organizations, and help families build long-term financial stability.

Through conversations with business owners and community leaders, I continue to hear about the challenges entrepreneurs face, including rising operating costs, limited access to capital, workforce needs, and difficulty navigating available programs.

Effective small-business policy must begin by listening to business owners and understanding the different needs of restaurants, professional services, construction firms, retailers, family-owned businesses, and emerging entrepreneurs.

My priorities include improving access to resources, strengthening partnerships with community organizations, supporting workforce development, and advocating for policies that allow local businesses to compete and grow.

When small businesses succeed, neighborhoods benefit. Supporting entrepreneurs is not only an economic priority; it is a community-development priority.
