This weekend, I traveled to Grapevine, Texas, for the Q3 meeting of the State Democratic Executive Committee and the Texas Democratic Party's 12th Annual Johnson-Jordan Dinner.
As an SDEC Committeeman representing Congressional District 29, these meetings are an important opportunity to participate in party business, connect with fellow SDEC members, and exchange ideas with Democratic leaders and organizers from communities across Texas.
The weekend also provided time to reconnect with colleagues and continue building relationships that help strengthen communication and collaboration across congressional districts. Those conversations matter because the work we do at the state level must ultimately connect back to the people and communities we represent.
Saturday evening concluded with the Johnson-Jordan Dinner at the Embassy Suites DFW Airport North. The annual gathering honors the legacies of President Lyndon B. Johnson and Congresswoman Barbara Jordan and brings together Democratic leaders, elected officials, candidates, activists, and supporters from across Texas.
Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg served as the keynote speaker for this year's dinner. The evening offered another opportunity to hear from leaders and spend time with Democrats engaged in public service and community organizing across the state.
I am grateful for the conversations, relationships, and opportunities to learn throughout the weekend. I look forward to bringing that experience back home as I continue serving Congressional District 29 and working in our communities.
Stronger Together.
